Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about searching, booking and flying — clear answers to the questions Indian travellers ask us most.
Booking & Payments
Search your route on the homepage or flights page, compare the fares we show across airlines, pick the flight that suits you, add any extras like baggage or seats, enter traveller details and complete payment. You will receive an e-ticket confirmation instantly.
You can pay using UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking and popular wallets. All payments are processed over a secure encrypted connection.
Ghumo compares live fares across airlines and travel partners so you always see the lowest available price for your route. We do not add hidden markups — the fare you see is the fare you pay.
For domestic routes, booking three to six weeks ahead usually gives the best balance of price and availability. Tuesday and Wednesday departures and early-morning flights tend to be cheaper. Use our fare calendar to spot the lowest dates.
You can search and compare without an account. An account helps you track bookings, save travellers and get price-drop alerts, but it is optional for a single booking.
Baggage
Most Indian carriers include 15 kg check-in and 7 kg cabin baggage on domestic economy fares. Exact limits depend on the airline and fare type, and are always displayed clearly before you pay.
Yes. Extra baggage is cheapest when added during booking, but you can also buy it later from the manage-booking section or at the airport, usually at a higher rate.
Liquids over 100 ml, sharp objects, power banks above the permitted capacity and flammable items are restricted in the cabin. Check your airline’s dangerous-goods list before you fly.
Changes & Cancellations
Yes, subject to the fare rules of your ticket. Flexible fares allow free or low-cost changes; the cheapest saver fares may carry a cancellation fee. The applicable rules are shown on the fare-selection screen.
Refunds for eligible cancellations are processed back to your original payment method. Airline processing typically takes 5 to 7 working days, though it can vary by carrier and bank.
If the airline cancels, you are entitled to a full refund or a free re-booking on the next available flight. We will notify you and help you choose the option that works best.
At the Airport
For domestic flights, arrive at least two hours before departure; for international flights, three to four hours. Web check-in opens 48 hours before departure and saves time at the counter.
No. A digital boarding pass or e-ticket on your phone, along with a government photo ID, is accepted at all major Indian airports.
Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, voter ID or a PAN card are commonly accepted. The name on your ID must match the name on your ticket.
General
Any applicable fees are shown transparently in the price breakdown before payment. There are no surprise charges after you confirm.
